SPA Cricket Club

The SPA Cricket Club’s mission is to provide an affordable avenue for cricket enthusiasts to play quality cricket in Singapore. While the majority of our players are of Pakistani origin, we welcome players from all origins and backgrounds. The club has two teams in the Singapore Cricket Association’s Club Category League (www.singaporecricket.org), one each in Divisions 2 and 4.

Who Plays in SPA CC

From students to working professionals, our members come from all walks of life. Our youngest player is 16 years old, with veterans above 40 years of age. Not only do we have some of the fastest bowlers in Singapore, but also leading run-scoring batsmen in the league. To top it all, official umpires and scorers for the Singapore League form part of our membership.

It is this diversity that is the foundation of mutual respect and integrity across the club, and fuels our passion for cricket.

SPA CC Charter

Following from the club’s mission, we continuously strive to create opportunities for cricket enthusiasts to enjoy quality cricket. In addition to having two teams registered in the Singapore League, the club also hosts events such as cage cricket. These events are aimed at bringing casual cricketers and families into the cricketing fold, providing a fun experience for all.

Cricket binds us together. Therefore everything we do is about cricket.

SPA CC Organizational Structure

We have an Executive Committee (EXCO) that is elected every year before the start of the season (January/February). The EXCO elections as well as other key matters are discussed and finalized during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our last AGM was convened in January 2013 when a new EXCO was elected for the upcoming season.

Each EXCO member has played for over two years with the club. Therefore they understand the needs of the players as well as the administrative tasks of the club.

Following is the current EXCO structure:

1. Div 2 Captain and Vice Captain
2. Div 4 Captain and Vice Captain
3. Treasurer
4. Four EXCO members

In addition, the EXCO actively seeks guidance from a few senior veterans on strategic matters. These veterans have run the club from its initiation and have played a key role in its growth and development to the present status.

SPA JUNIOR CRICKET

SPA heard your calls for cricket activities for your young ones, and immediately called in The SPA Cricket Club!

While other sports are more accessible in Singapore, cricket classes seem to be less readily available. SPA Cricket Club has decided to step in and fill this gap.

SPA Cricket Club would like to provide a platform where your children remain in touch with Pakistan’s favourite sport. To develop your child’s interest and talent in cricket, SPA Cricket Club is thinking up an array of activities, ranging from specific training sessions by professional coaches, to full-fledged matches. Through these Junior Activities, SPA Cricket Club hopes to nurture and groom future members of the SPA Cricket Team to play club-level cricket with other associations and groups. SPA Cricket Team’s youngest player last season was 16 years old.
