Milad un nabi
SPA held its annual Milad at the High Commissioner’s Residence. Recitations were given from the quran followed by Naats by several ladies. Talks were given on Islamic topics from the Quran and the Holy Prophets Life. Followed by sumptuous high tea.

Chinese new year celebration – coffee morning
Coffee Morning celebrating Chinese new year 2013 was attended by over 50 ladies. SPA as always showing solidarity with our Chinese brethren celebrated the Chinese new year at Sophie Shaikh’s residence.The whole house was decorated with red dragons and red buntings. Our Chinese friends gave us an informative talk about the reasons and relevance of celebrating the new year. The history behind it and all the rituals which go along with it. The ladies played some very interesting Chinese games and thereafter gathered together to toss up the noodles as high as possible to usher in good luck with the new year. Chinese food demonstrations were given followed by a delicious and hearty Chinese meal. Gift of mandarins was given to all attending.

Singapore Pakistani Association in collaboration with The Arab Ladies Network and Women of the World Group (WOW) organized a talk to be given by Daisy Khan, Executive Director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), a New York-based non-profit dedicated to strengthening an expression of Islam based on cultural and religious harmony and building bridges between Muslims and the general public. At ASMA, Daisy led numerous interfaith events like the theater production Same Difference and the Cordoba Bread Fest banquet. She has also launched two groundbreaking flagship programs: the (MLT) and (WISE), global movements to empower Muslim youth and women.
The talk was attended by over 50 ladies from all communities and professions.

Spa coffee morning – day trip to johor bahru, malaysia
SPA planned a Coffee Morning trip for the ladies to the Johor Outlet Mall, Johor Bahru, malaysia on the 22nd April 2013. The outlet mall has a number of branded stores including Michael Kors, Guess, lacoste, Burberry . There was a variety of good restaurants to choose from for a delicious lunch. A bus picked up th eladies from Newton Circus. It was a fun fulled ladies only day full of shopping, fun,laughter and food. Over 40 ladies attended the day trip.
