SPA Eid Dinner 2007 was a night of entertainment, with performances by Bollywood Sg, Dhol Federation-Singapore, childrens’ activities and a lucky draw.

Qawwali – mystic music from pakistan ayaz fareed & abu mohammed ensemble held at ntuc auditorium

The Ayaz Fareed Ensemble performed to a packed house of Qawalli lovers at the Beautiful NTUC Auditorium. The Qawalli night was a huge hit among the audience. The world-famous troupe, known for its versions delivered in a purist old qawalli genre, was later featured on Coke Studio, and they were included in the soundtrack of The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

“soul of pakistan” – contemporary art exhibition at artrium, mica building

Organised jointly by Singapore Pakistani Association and Artink, the Soul of Pakistan is a unique exhibition that transports you into the heart, mind and soul of Pakistan.
The Guest of Honour Mr Kwok Kian Chow, Director of the National Art Gallery welcomed the guests and Artists to the event.

The Artists ranged from a diverse background and touch upon a myriad of eclectic topics from the modern individual and collective identity of Pakistanis along with the unique diaspora of religious and socio-cultural influences shaping society. Individual artworks focused on the daily strife of the people which seek to highlight the overarching beauty of the country.

Artists who exbited their works were*

Abdul Jabbar Gul, Ahsan Jamal, Asif Ahmed, Madiha Sikander, Masuma Khawaja, Moeen Faruqi, Munawar Ali Syed, Nahid Raza, Nosheen Iqbal, Riffat Alvi, RM Naeem, Rooha Ghaznavi, Syed Faraz Ali, Sophia Khawaja, Tariq Javed, Tasneem Moochhala and Wasi Haider.

The event was graced by the International professionals, local community diginitaries and the akistani community at large.

The event was a huge success.
