2nd rahat fateh ali concert held at the esplanade concert hall.
In October 2010 SPA organised a concert featuring the famous singer from Pakistan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. This was a resounding success, being a complete sell out. The show was also attended by senior government officials.
Due to overwhelming demand, SPA was fortunate to present a second show for the artiste. This time, the concert was held at Singapore’s premier performing arts venue the Esplanade, Concert Hall on Monday 25th October 2010.
SPA obtained a special MCYS permit to classify the second concert as a Charity fundraising event, and obtained a deeply discounted venue rate from the Esplanade. All profits from the show were donated to Charity. The ratio of distribution was 50% to Pakistan Flood relief efforts under the SPA banner and 50% to a Singapore-based Indian charity. RBS Coutts Bank offered a significant sponsorship for this event. The amount sponsored is also the single highest sponsorship that the SPA has got in its time.
Another achievement in these events was the partnership with three local Indian groups to organise these mega events.

Earthquake in pakistan
In November 2005, Pakistan was hit by a devastating earthquake. In the aftermath of the earthquake, more than 73,000 people lost their lives, with more than 80,000 injured. Approximately 3 million were rendered homeless.
SPA immediately got to work on gathering funds and aid to be sent to the affected areas in Pakistan. Upon SPA’s appeal, MasterCard International donated USD50,000 and Credit Suisse donated medicines worth SGD15,500. DHL and Pakistan International Airlines generously transported shipments of pasteurized human anti-tetanus immune globulin, 200 packets of Augmentin, 15 boxes of antibiotics, 171 boxes of blankets, warm clothes, canned food and sleeping bags to The Citizens Foundation and Edhi Foundation in Pakistan on SPA’s behalf.
The response from the residents and corporations in Singapore was overwhelming. In particular, SPA would like to appreciate MasterCard International, Credit Suisse, DHL, PIA, Golin Harris, Shankar Iyer and Money Matters.
