Spa charity fashion show – colours of indus

Pakistanis across the world have never held back from joining hands for common developmental causes. In the same spirit, members of the Singapore-Pakistan Association came together under the umbrella of Colours of Indus, a charity gala comprising dinner and a fashion show at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore in April 2006. Annie Jaffri was a superb MC with Guest Speaker Zia Moyhiddin, captivating the audience with his Urdu poetry and prose recitations. The Event was graced by the honourable President S R Nathan and First Lady. Choreographed and produced by Imran Kureishi, the show was an effort to raise funds for a children’s charity as well as the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and showcased the works of designers Maheen Khan, Rizwan Beyg, Faiza Samee and Shamoon Sultan.

The effort was a defining mark on the canvas of Pakistani choreographed ventures, and comprised 20 models from Singapore as well as international models from Brazil, Romania and Czech Republic. Among the Pakistani representatives were eight female and two male models namely Iraj, Sunita Marshal, Zhalay Sarhadi, Tooba, Zainab Qayyum (ZQ), Arisha, Faiza, Nida, Danish and Anatoly.

Rising to the occasion were the competent hair-styling and make-up efforts of Massarat Misbah and Tani from Depilex, while photography services were rendered by Rizwan-ul-Haq.

The entire event was extremely well-organized and the designer collections were phenomenal.

Spa bazaar & festival @ fort canning park

On Sunday 9th September 2007 The Singapore Pakistani Association (SPA) held it’s inaugural annual Bazaar & Festival. Celebrating more than 50 years existence in Singapore, the SPA has a strong presence and membership within the community of Singapore.
The Bazaar & Festival was held at Fort Canning. The overall aim of the event was to bring Pakistani culture and society to the Singapore community as well as hosting a single event that drew it’s membership closer together. There were over 50 stalls and vendors selling merchandises. A real treasure trove for the avid bargain hunter. Cultural shows throughout the day, including dance competition for children and a Motorcycle display by the Ducati Owners club of Singapore in association with Minerva Motor, the approved Ducati dealership of Singapore
There were two objectives for this event. One was to raise funds for charity and the second to give children from the Pertapis Childrens a day out. The second objective of the festival was to help generate funds to contribute to the acquisition of a permanent house/office location for the SPA.
